This page walks you through adding and configuring the Hello Clever payment gateway on your OpenCart store. By the end of these steps, Hello Clever will appear as a payment option on your checkout page, giving your customers a fast and secure way to pay.

Requirements

Hello Clever is currently available for OpenCart merchants with store addresses in Australia. Only AUD (Australian Dollars) is supported at this time.
  • OpenCart version: 2.3.0 or greater. You can verify your version in the bottom centre of the OpenCart Admin Dashboard.
  • Store currency: AUD.

Installation

Download the plugin

Download the Hello Clever OpenCart plugin and save the file (for example, clever-opc-v3.ocmod.zip) to your local machine.

Log in to the OpenCart Admin Portal

Navigate to your OpenCart Admin Portal and log in with your admin credentials.

Upload the plugin

  1. Go to Extensions > Installer from the left-hand menu.
  2. Click the Upload button.
  3. Select the downloaded plugin file and upload it.
  4. Once the upload succeeds, the plugin will appear under Install History.

Enable the plugin

  1. Go to Extensions > Extensions.
  2. From the dropdown menu, select Payments.
  3. Locate Hello Clever Gateway in the list and click Install.
  4. Once installed, click the Edit button to open the plugin configuration.

Configure the plugin

Fill in the following fields:
  • API Mode: select Sandbox for testing or Production for live use.
  • API Key: copy from your Hello Clever Merchant Dashboard.
  • Secret Key: copy from your Hello Clever Merchant Dashboard.
Click Save to finalise the configuration.

Apply modifications

  1. Navigate to Extensions > Modifications.
  2. Click the Refresh button to reload the cache and apply the plugin modifications.

Verify the integration

Once the setup is complete, navigate to your store’s checkout page. Hello Clever will appear as a payment option, and customers can use it to complete their purchases seamlessly.
If Hello Clever does not appear at checkout after completing the steps above, return to Extensions > Modifications and click Refresh again to ensure the plugin’s modifications have been applied correctly.
